Where the Hiring Is Concentrated

One employer dominates: Bespoke Labs is posting 143 roles, nearly 9% of everything tracked, and they're overwhelmingly seeking Machine Learning Engineers. After that the field flattens out fast. Capital One (49) is the biggest mainstream-enterprise hirer, recruiting Lead ML Engineers. German education and consulting firms show up heavily — IU Internationale Hochschule (35 + 17 under a second entity), Reply Deutschland (18), and food-delivery player Lieferando (20) — which explains much of Europe's volume. Tata Consultancy Services (26) anchors India's IT-services demand.

Defense and aerospace are quietly aggressive: Booz Allen Hamilton (17), Lockheed Martin (15), and adjacent contractors like MITRE and the Defense Logistics Agency are hiring — often requiring security clearance for roles in electronic warfare and AI systems. Amazon (15) and mental-health platform SonderMind (21) round out the top tier.

The Roles in Demand

Three titles repeat across the sample:

  • Generative AI Engineer — the single most common posting, spanning Covetus, HTC Global, Recro, and Aroha Technologies across the US and India.
  • Machine Learning Engineer — the volume role, driven by Bespoke Labs, Capital One, and Beyond Sports.
  • AI Engineer / AI Architect — including specialized AI Security Architect and clearance-gated defense positions.

Beyond core engineering, demand is broadening into adjacent functions: AI sales and GTM executives, conversational-AI UX/UI designers, AI business consultants, content creators for AI tutorials, and freelance/contract ML work (Mindrift). If you're not an engineer, the AI job market still has a lane for you.

Practical Takeaways

If you're geographically flexible, Europe has the most open seats. If you hold or can obtain a security clearance, US defense contractors are a reliable, less-crowded path. Generalist ML engineers should look hard at Bespoke Labs given sheer volume. Contract and freelance options exist for those who want them.
