Where the Jobs Are

  • Europe — 1,145 roles (~49%): the clear leader, nearly half of everything tracked.
  • United States — 758 (~32%): strong second, heavy on defense and enterprise.
  • India — 415 (~18%): a large, fast-moving market skewed toward GenAI delivery work.
  • Rest of world — 26, and UAE — 6: thin for now, worth watching.

If you're flexible on location, Europe is where the volume is; the US concentrates cleared and senior roles.

Who's Hiring

Bespoke Labs dominates with 176 openings — more than the next several employers combined — and is actively posting Machine Learning Engineer roles in the US. Behind it: Capital One (69), EnthuZiastic (46), IU Internationale Hochschule (35), and Tata Consultancy Services (32). Health-tech SonderMind (31), Reply Deutschland (28), aggregator Jobgether (27), and consultancies Booz Allen Hamilton (25) and Deloitte (21) fill out the top tier, with Lieferando (20) and Mindrift (17) close behind.

Common Role Types

Machine Learning Engineer is the dominant title across all three major regions. After that:

  • Generative AI / LLM Engineers — especially in India (IBM, Luxoft India, 4 Way Technologies), often tagged "immediate joiner."
  • AI Engineer roles at consultancies and recruiters (INTEC Select, ML6, Sardine).
  • Defense / cleared AI in the US and Europe (MITRE, Anson McCade), where a security clearance is a recurring requirement.
  • Data Scientists, plus AI trainers/annotators (Toloka) and internships (Pelico, Fracto) for early-career entrants.

Takeaways

Expect a barbell: senior MLEs and cleared specialists on one end, GenAI delivery and annotation roles on the other. India leans contract-style "short notice period" GenAI work; Europe spreads across product, recruiting-agency, and enterprise roles.
