The AI Trust Wars Heat Up

The day's sharpest story came out of China, where Alibaba is barring its employees from using Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool, over security concerns tied to an alleged backdoor. According to reporting aggregated by Crypto News and Techzine, the ban puts a major Chinese tech giant openly at odds with a leading US AI lab — a sign of how quickly trust, not just capability, is becoming the battleground in enterprise AI.

Others are betting on proximity instead of prohibition. The Times of India reports that OpenAI, and other big tech firms are trying a hands-on sales tactic: embedding thousands of their own staff directly inside customers' offices to help deploy AI. Building the Backbone

The Robots Have Arrived

Humanoid robots are moving out of the lab. BMW is deploying AI humanoid robots on the factory floor, part of a broader wave of components, partnerships and pilot programs bringing the machines into real workplaces. On the consumer side, China's UBTech unveiled the U1, a lifelike companion robot starting at $17,650, according to Nikkei Asia, the South China Morning Post and The Indian Express — pushing humanoids toward the living room, not just the assembly line.
