The Numbers

We're tracking 4,789 open AI/ML roles today. The distribution is lopsided in a way worth planning around:

  • Europe — 2,321 (48.5%)
  • US — 1,573 (32.8%)
  • India — 857 (17.9%)
  • Rest of world — 27
  • UAE — 11

Europe, the US, and India together account for 99.2% of everything tracked. If you're job-hunting outside those three markets, the tracked pool is effectively 38 roles — remote-first postings from European and US employers are the realistic path.

Who's Hiring

Bespoke Labs leads by a wide margin with 174 open roles, followed by Capital One (157) and Jobgether (83). After that the volume drops into the 30–70 band: Booz Allen Hamilton (66), Reply Deutschland SE (56), General Motors (56), EnthuZiastic (49), BC Forward (49), Google (40), Europace Ratenkredit GmbH (40), J.P. Morgan (39), and Deloitte (36).

Note what that list is not: it's not dominated by AI labs. Two banks (Capital One, J.P. Morgan), two consultancies (Booz Allen, Deloitte), an automaker (GM), and a German fintech make up most of the top tier. AI hiring at volume is happening inside regulated enterprises, not just model shops.

Read the Recruiters

A large share of postings come from staffing and recruitment intermediaries — Jobgether, BC Forward, K-Tek Resourcing, Wave Recruitment, IntaPeople, VIQU IT Recruitment, Pontoon, Instaffo, and Tenth Revolution Group all appear. Expect duplicate listings for the same underlying seat, and expect vaguer job specs. Worth applying to, but verify the end client early.

Role Types

Four clusters cover most of what's posted:

  1. Machine Learning Engineer — the single most common title, from junior through Lead (NN Group, Persistent Systems, AKKODIS, HUK-COBURG).
  2. Data Scientist — Cisco, Booz Allen, Pontoon, Europace, plus a Raytheon senior researcher role.
  3. GenAI deployment and architecture — Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Deployment Engineer, Gen AI Solutions Architect, AI Strategist at Amazon, Senior AI Tooling Engineer at GM. This is the fastest-growing shape: shipping and integrating models, not training them.
  4. Adjacent and entry-level — freelance AI trainers and annotators, BI internships, and emerging specialties like LLM & AI security and MLOps team lead.

German-language postings (m/w/d, w/m/d) are frequent in the European set — German is a real filter on roughly half the market.
