The headline number
4,485 open AI/ML roles are on the board today. The split is less US-centric than the funding headlines suggest: Europe 2,105 (47%), US 1,738 (39%), India 594 (13%), rest of world 36, UAE 12. Those last two categories together are about 1% of the market — if you're job hunting outside the big three regions, the tracked pipeline is thin.
Europe: volume, and a lot of it in German
Europe's 2,105 roles are notable for how many are local-language postings — the (m/w/d) suffix shows up repeatedly. Reply Deutschland SE (47) and Europace Ratenkredit (40) are both top-12 hirers, alongside Siemens, REWE Group (an AI-Strategy internship), SThree Germany, and Kinova. The UK/NL side skews product: Just Eat is hiring a Staff ML Engineer, Lieferando a Senior ML Engineer, plus G-Research, Qureight, and a VP AI/ML Software Engineer at BNY.
US: fewer roles, far more concentrated
Two employers dominate. Capital One (246) and Bespoke Labs (215) account for 461 postings — over 10% of the entire tracked market between them. Behind them the pattern is defense, consulting, and old-line finance: Booz Allen Hamilton (63), General Motors (56), J.P. Morgan (43), Vanguard, plus staffing shops BC Forward (42) and V-Soft.
India: teaching and enablement
India's 594 roles lean toward instruction and delivery rather than research — upGrad part-time Data Science Instructor, an AI Assistant Professor post at Dayananda Sagar University, EnthuZiastic at 41 openings, and Cornerstone OnDemand hiring an India-based AI Engineer.
What the roles actually are
Three clusters. First, the classics: Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer, by far the most repeated titles. Second, GenAI-specific builds — "AI Engineer, Generative AI & LLM Systems," Senior Python Developer with GenAI, ML Workflow Engineer. Third, the periphery: freelance data annotators and AI trainers (Mindrift), LLM security work (a vulnerability management engineer at STAFIDE), and AI/SaaS sales.
Two filters worth applying. Aggregators and staffing firms — Jobgether (80), BC Forward, Pontoon, SThree, GeekSoft — mean duplicate listings for the same underlying job. And keyword noise is real: one listing is an orthopaedic surgeon role that mentions "AI Tools."
