Anthropic has launched a new "reflection" feature for its Claude chatbot, giving users a way to look back at how they've been using the AI assistant.

According to Techmeme, the tool is a dashboard rolling out in beta to Free, Pro, and Max subscribers, and it lets people review their Claude usage patterns over 1-, 3-, 6-, or 12-month intervals. In its own announcement, Anthropic framed the feature as "a new way to reflect on and refine how you use Claude," citing interviews with users.

The launch drew quick comparisons to year-in-review features that have spread across the tech industry. The Verge dubbed it "Claude Wrapped," noting that the popularity of Spotify Wrapped has kicked off similar lookback features on apps from YouTube to Uber — and that the trend has now reached AI. Axios called it AI's "screen-time moment," a nod to the usage-tracking dashboards on smartphones.

Coverage highlighted a notable wrinkle: rather than simply encouraging more engagement, the feature appears aimed partly at healthier habits. Engadget reported that the dashboard "wants to help you log off of Claude," while 9to5Mac wrote that Claude may ask users whether they're relying on it too much. CNET described the beta as tracking your habits to improve how you use Claude, while also observing that companies benefit when users get more out of their products and keep coming back.

Why it matters: As AI chatbots become daily tools, how companies measure and shape user engagement — pushing for more use or nudging toward moderation — signals the kind of relationship they want people to have with these products.
