AMD has unveiled Helios, described by CNBC as its first rack-scale AI system built to rival Nvidia, and it is landing with a marquee customer already attached.
Under an expanded partnership, Microsoft will deploy AMD's next-generation AI chips in its Azure cloud, according to Moomoo. Coverage from MSN framed the move as Microsoft using AMD's Helios system inside Azure data centers, strengthening AMD's challenge to Nvidia as competition in the AI chip market intensifies.
Investors reacted quickly.
