With Nvidia's high-performance GPU sales to China severely constrained by export controls, the company has pivoted to CPUs as a means of maintaining its presence in the Chinese market. Vera CPUs are designed to comply with existing U.S. export regulations while still offering processing capabilities relevant to AI workloads and data center infrastructure.

The strategic shift reflects Nvidia's efforts to navigate U.S.-China trade restrictions while continuing to serve one of the world's largest AI markets. Vera CPU sales to Chinese customers were anticipated to commence by August.
