OpenAI is bringing its corporate AI tools to one of the world's largest electronics makers. According to CHOSUNBIZ (Chosunbiz), OpenAI said on the 22nd that it will supply ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to Samsung Electronics.

The rollout is sweeping. CHOSUNBIZ reports that Samsung is making the tools available to all staff in Korea, as well as to employees in its DX division globally. DX is Samsung's division covering its consumer-facing devices and products.

Two OpenAI products are involved. ChatGPT Enterprise is the business version of the chatbot, with added administrative and security controls for large organizations. The second, Codex, is described by CHOSUNBIZ as an AI-based work automation platform — OpenAI's coding-focused tool that helps software developers write and manage code.

OpenAI itself frames the deal as a milestone. According to the source reporting, OpenAI says the Samsung deployment is one of its largest enterprise rollouts to date. OpenAI also confirmed the move in its own announcement, titled "Samsung Electronics brings ChatGPT and Codex to employees."

Why it matters: Samsung is a global heavyweight, and a company-wide deployment at this scale signals that generative AI is moving from individual experimentation into standard, sanctioned workplace tooling — a meaningful vote of confidence in OpenAI's enterprise business and a sign of how quickly these tools are being embedded into how major companies operate.
